| Happy Feet for Happy Hearts Maybury State Park Northville, Michigan Our First 5K Family Fun Walk will be held Saturday May 31st, at 10:00 a.m. Pre-registration is encouraged. Shirts are guaranteed to those that pre-register. Otherwise, registration will be at 8:30 a.m. at Maybury State Park in Northville Township at the Walnut Pavilion area. First come first serve on t-shirts. After the walk families will enjoy food, and perhaps some light entertainment for the children. (Fire-truck, face painting, balloons, and more). Flyers will be posted soon and there will be a fee of $20.00 for adults, $10.00 for children, and children 5 and under will be free (fee must be paid in order to receive a t-shirt). Bring in donations worth $100.00 or more and you will be entered into a drawing to win a Nintendo Wii, or Tiger tickets, and possibly other fun prizes. The walks purpose will be to raise awareness of Pediatric Brain Tumors, and also to increase research dollars for Pediatric Brain Tumors. Many tumors such as the one Leah had do not have a cure and until a cure has been found, beautiful innocent children will continue to die. A portion of the money will also be used for our annual Christmas event at Mott’s Children’s Hospital where we help ill children at Christmas to have happy hearts by allowing them to shop for their families and themselves. If you know of anyone that would like to donate food/drink or be a sponsor please let me know. Also if you know of a local celebrity that would like to lead the walk that would be great as well. Any other ideas are welcome. We will fight and not give up until a cure has been found and awareness raised. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you help us walk for happy hearts.
