Karen, I continue to keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. I love the story you shared about the green frog- we, too, have experienced signs from Maddie that are so amazing and comforting- I am so glad Leah has managed to make her presence known to you. I am sorry for the haunting images you are forced to replay- I agree that it is all part of a process(for lack of a better word)- but it certainly is wrenching reliving those moments. Most of my thoughts now drift to a healthy Maddie, and the completeness of her beauty. Karen, Phil and Kylie, I cried for you this morning when I read your update. I knew you would receive a sign. When I look at Leahs personality it does not suprise me that she sent you a big fat frog with two different eyes. She was so carefree and liked everyone the same even if they were different. She wanted to make you smile and that I bet you did. The more I repeat the story to people(and I tell everyone that I can to inspire other people) about her courage, which was that of a grown adult and her gentle loving ways, the more I think of how lucky I am to have entered this family ten years ago. What a pleasure to have know someone so inspirational. She has made me no longer sweat the small things in life. Karen, you must believe in her spirit. Believe that she is with you all. It is only you who can know in your heart that she is just as alive as ever. She is no longer sick and trying to be a child, trying to ride a bike or swing. She is a healthy little girl that it a child who is riding a bike and swinging and smiling. BELIEVE!!!!! Believe that when you close your eyes and think of her that she hears your thoughts. I understand how your faith has been tested. It's easy to believe in something when you don't have such an investment that it truly exist. Like your experience with the frog, when my husband died one year ago at age 42 there were many signs that could not have been a coincidence. The more I doubted, the more they came, yet I still struggle to believe. A friend sent me a wind chime that I hung outside in a tree -- I find it so comforting. Even when there is no wind, I will often hear it when I need it most. I will send to you strength and will always remember your words "when you lose a spouse, you are a widow, when you lose a child there is no name because it is too hard to name." I pray for you to find at least one night of peace.

Friday morning I sorted through pictures -looking for a good one to put in a frame- one I'm writing about is a stuffed green frog- when ever we give away a stuff toy it's easier - if we take a picture - & keep that- ran across it Friday morning & smiled- it will now have a new meaning & I will put it in the Bible with Leah's picture you sent us -on a thank you note earlier this summer. I am glad you updated in your journal. Those images really really suck and it can drive us crazy! I remember that I kept trying to avoid those last images and it kept going on and on and I felt I couldn't handle anymore. Finally one night I let those images happen in full force while I was in bed and I cried big time. I begged GOD to help me and I believe he did. I felt a warmth go inside me and felt instantly calm. I felt wrapped, like I was in a cocoon. I loved the story about the frog and yes, you got a sign that your sweet girl is in Heaven and she is very happy. I sent you an email and I hope you got it.

I pray that Leah continues to send you signs that she is ok and that the reality of heaven becomes so clear for you...without the hope of heaven, then even the good things of this life become tragic because they too are passing away.
