you continue to be in my thoughts today. i know the ride is a horrid one; i found olivia's teachings to offer a wee bit of comfort.
"breathe in the light, blow out the darkness" sometimes, that's all we can do.

I am a co-worker of Roland Young. My prayers are with your family. My favorite quote is from Robert Frost, "In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: It goes on."
I believe with all my heart that Leah's life goes on. In the hearts that loved her and in heaven.
Our lives will go on for a very short time without Leah and our loved one's that have passed, but then we will have eternity together.
Leah's life has touched me and I never met her! She was obviously very special and blessed!
God bless you

For several months, many of us have anxiously awaited news from John that another Leah update was ready to view. We wanted Leah to be a miracle child and prayed the updates would be filled with good news. During these months, we have read new words foreign to our vocabulary – words we really never wanted to know --brain stem glioma, immunotherapy, Ruta 6C and Calcarea Phosphorica, anthroposophical physician, Iscador, homeopathic remedies, cranial sacral therapy etc. We have cried reading the sad medical findings and we’ve cried for the frustration her parents and sister have gone through. We have unsuccessfully tried to vision ourselves in the place of the big sister, the dad or the mom. Along the way we’ve been made aware of more sites and have cried for other children and their families fighting for the same hope –Ryan Brown, Claire Tatom, Tyler, Rachael… We’ve smiled when we got to see pictures of Kylie and Leah sitting in a clothes basket, of Karen and the girls in their look-alike sundresses, of Phil and Leah from the daddy/daughter dance. We’ve yelled, “YESSSSSSSS!”, and “You go Girl!” when Karen vowed not to give up…to fight til the bitter end...and to continue even later. We’ve been proud of the support Phil gave Karen that allowed us to be a part of the updates.
However, most significantly, through the updates we got the opportunity to know a beautiful little angel, who lived here on earth, named Leah. With bright blue eyes and features like a china doll, we knew when her heart was happy and we knew when she hurt. We learned she loved Kylie and her Mom and Dad very much. We know she was courageous and she trusted the decisions made for her. Her short life included many happy adventures in limos, at parties and traveling that will bring warm and happy memories to her family forever. She taught us that life is short and we need to do things to make our hearts happy. She’s made us hug our children and grandchildren closer and more often. She has made us aware that no matter what gets in our way, we can figure out how to do things for ourselves. She showed us she could climb the rungs of a ladder to get to the top even though it was difficult. She reminded us to laugh aloud and tell someone when we think something is funny. She’s made us become more sensitive to others feelings when someone doesn’t seem perfect. By the updates on the site, it’s easy to see she had a large following of many people who loved her and cared about her and her family –many without ever even meeting her. We have never known anyone so young who has had such a meaningful impact on so many lives. She’ll be in our memories forever.
We know you are hurting and will miss Leah but, hope that in the days to come you will find peace knowing your beautiful little angel now watches over you…

I just realized that through all the prayers and mourning for Leah, I've become a little less critical, a little more loving, paying more attention, enjoying more moments, hugging tighter, kissing more often, my own children. Leah has encouraged me to appreciate every breath more and for that I am so thankful. Leah has changed this life.
