Hi, Karen ~~ just checking in on Leah. I'm glad you checked into the hospice program. I found them to be so supportive to me when I needed them. As you say, you can always back out if a miracle happens, which I pray will. God bless all of you and I'll check in again soon. Hugs to all of you, Karen

Karen - Your journey has touched many hearts and as one who has travelled both the roads of grief & joy, I wanted to reinforce your faith and trust in the Lord with the following verses: I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give isn't like the peace the world gives. So don't be troubled or afraid. John 14:27 NLT Truly, you will weep and mourn over what is going to happen to me, but the world will rejoice. You will grieve, but your grief will suddenly turn to wonderful joy when you see me again. It will be like a woman experiencing the pains of labor. When her child is born, her anguish gives place to joy because she has brought a new person into the world. You have sorrow now, but I will see you again; then you will rejoice, and no one can rob you of that joy. John 16:20-22 NLT You and your family are in my daily thoughts & prayers. P.S. Fr. Vogan is "saint" in our book; we were lucky he was in our lives as pastor of St. Joe's in South Lyon.

Hello Karen and Leah. Karen, your brother John told me about your daughter Leah and my heart and prayers go out to you and your family. I just hired your brother back to Ford this past week, he and I had worked together on WERS for many years, in fact we both started on the same day at Ford. I also met you a couple of years ago. We were both in the same class, it was the one where we got trained to be arbitrators in cases for Ford disciplinary actions. Your daughter is a beautiful little angel and from what John tells me about her, you must be very proud. I am a believer and follower of Jesus Christ and when bad things happen to good people it really challenges our faith. I'd like to share this short story with you, it's called God's Cake: Sometimes we wonder, "What did I do to deserve this", or "Why did God have to do this to me". Here is a wonderful explanation! A daughter is telling her Mother how everything is going wrong, she's failing algebra, her boyfriend broke up with her and her best friend is moving away. Meanwhile, her Mother is baking a cake and asks her daughter if she would like a snack, and the daughter says, "Absolutely Mom,I love your cake. "Here, have some cooking oil," her Mother offers. "Yuck" says her daughter. "How about a couple raw eggs?" "Gross, Mom!" "Would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking soda?" "Mom, those are all yucky!" To which the mother replies: "Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves. But when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake!" God works the same way. Many times we wonder why He would let us go through such bad and difficult times. But God knows that when He puts these things all in His order, they always work for good! We just have to trust Him and, eventually, they will all make something wonderful! God is crazy about you. He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning. Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen. He can live anywhere in the universe, and He chose your heart.
