Dear Karen, Phil and Kylie:
Leah would be so pleased at the moving tribute to her today and the prayers for her family at her funeral mass. Words cannot convey our grief for you today, and our sadness at the separation you will endure now that Leah has moved to her heavenly home. As Fr. John said, she is a saint among the communion of saints, and she will be a wonderful intercessor for you during your days on earth. Thank you so much for having the courage to share your precious, innocent, happy hearted Leah with so many people, from those in our community, to those far away who only knew of her through the internet. Leah's suffering, and your suffering has brought out compassion in so many. Without suffering, there is no compassion, and we believe that the compassion you have received is one of the good things that has come out of Leah's suffering and death. Leah carried her cross well, and shared with the world how a little one can carry the cross, as Jesus told us to pick up and carry every day. It would behoove us to learn from her experience and example. She offered us an example of simple strength and truth beyond her mere 5 years. And you were there every step of the way. Keep walking, for her. She would want that.
Thank you Leah. Until we meet again, little saint.

Phil, Karen, and Kylie: Todays mass was a beautiful and loving tribute to Leah. I felt honored to attend. I could just feel little Leah smiling down on us, so pleased at so many friends and family in her church, the Firemen and the Fire Truck ride. The loving and inspiring words spoken by the two Priests, as well as Uncle Herb and Aunt Bev, caused tears to stream down my face, but lightened my heart as well. This child was SO loved by so many people. Her story touched so many lives. May God continue to give you strength during the difficult days ahead. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Please call if you need anything Karen, anything at all.
Love,
Barb

I just wanted to tell you that Leah's mass today was beautiful. The readings, the homily, everything... inspiring and beautiful. Uncle Herb and Aunt Bev along with the pastor brought me to tears - saddened for your loss, and heartened by the way that she touched my families heart, even though we only met her at the fund raisers. My boys didn't understand at first when in our prayers, instead of praying for her, we prayed for God's love to continue to hold your family close, and to keep Leah close to him. In the end, I told them that we now know have a friend in heaven, and we'll pray that she'll watch over us.
God bless you.

Dear Karen and Phil, I don't know you personally, but am so moved with sorrow to hear of the loss of your precious child. I will certainly pray for all of your family.
Leah isn't really gone forever--she has just gone on ahead--you will be with her again someday. She's happy and laughing and sitting on Jesus' lap.
