Karen,
I have a bit of advice about the urinating, Ryan had a lot of problems urinating. We would put our thumbs on his kindneys and squeeze around the front on his bladder, you must push kind of hard but she will let you know if it hurts. He would tell us that it would help him go and he felt better because he didn't have to struggle. He didn't have to stay in there 10 minutes just to pee, running water and pushing on his bladder is what helped best with him. If you are with hospice care ask them about what to do about it, or her doctors. We know how those doctors can be and sometimes you have to stay on them about certain things, they may not be concerned about it but you are and that is the most important thing. Leah to be comfortable and you to be a little less stressed out. So, if you need anything, anything at all please let me know. Praying for you always.
Love and Prayers,
Ryan's mommy forever and ever

Hi, I am Rachel Johnson Olson's mother. Rachel is a friend of Joann's. Just want to add some words of encouragement for Leah. Our middle daughter Susan has a glioma between the eyeball and the optic chiasma, present since birth. She had cobalt treatments at age 3 after a craniotomy during which they could not remove it because of danger of much damage to the brain. The tumor did shrink. She is now 46 years old, has lived her life blind in her left eye and with the threat of the glioma enlarging again. With God's help, there is hope for Leah too. We will keep all of you in our prayers. With love and the hope of many blessings to you. Doris

Karen,
I hope that I did not affend you by wondering if Phil was going to write. I feel bad now. I hope all is well. Leah seems to be hanging in there. By the way I think it is wonderful how all of these families help you and in return you can help them. God bless you and your family. Kisses and hugs!!!

I truly dont know what to say. Karen you are a strong, compassionate mother. Your family is lucky to have you. Have many more memories, love every minute. Ps. We all understand that men are much more private with deep feelings.

Dear Karen,
You do not know me. I have been following Leah's story for awhile now. My mom is a friend of Leah's grandma. Anyway, I am inspired by you. You are courageous and brave. As a Mother of two children I cannot begin to imagine what things pass through your heart and mind each day so I pray for you. I pray for Leah's miracle, I pray for your family to meet head on any challenges you face and to bravely get through the cards you have already been dealt.
May the Lord continue to guide you. Remember that when you are tired He will be there to carry you and your family.
Many Blessings to you and may this "second year" since her diagnosis be the one that heals her!
