Karen, Phil and Kylie, I had the honor of attending Leah's beautiful funeral Mass this morning. I just wanted to thank you for sharing your special little girl with us all over the past year. I have totally fallen in love with Leah and will sorely miss the updates with the latest adorable things she had said. The Priest put in to words something I had been feeling all along. Some of the things out of Leah's five year old mouth showed the wisdom of an old soul. It's hard to explain but I felt as though Leah had a special connection to Heaven. She was (is) filled with supernatural Grace and we were all lucky to have been touched by this angel. I will continue to pray for your family and I will always remember the special angel that graced this earth for a short while. Karen, your openness in the online journal has, I believe, made me a better mother. THANK YOU and God Bless.

You will be in my prayers through the difficult days ahead as I know you will need lots of strength and love to get beyond your terrible loss. I am a member of the ASGA who I understand helped with fundraisers for Leah. You see, my daughter, Rachel, became quite ill when she was 16 years of age. It turned out to be her thyroid with a secondary eye disease (that happens only in 10% of thyroid cases). It took some time to find that out due to the symptoms she was having -continuous vomiting, loosing weight (she looked like a Holocaust surviver), her eyes were sentitive to light, eyes popping out of her sockets making her look like a frog. But thank goodness she survived and after six eye surgeries looks normal. Being a single parent at the time, I thought I may loose her and remember it was a difficult time. But nothing like you are facing now. Take care and live on the wonderful memories of Leah.
