I relate to your thoughts. You convey everything I think the hell of losing a child would be. I realize how much of a tragedy this is and how it is life changing. My thoughts are with you as you muddle through these very hard times. Give yourself some praise for making it day to day. That is the best you can hope for at this time.

Karen,
I've never written in here before because I never felt that I could express how I feel. I still don't!! The only thing I can say that comes out right is that I hurt for you and your family and how much I love your family. I'm here for you and whenever you need me to do something for you or just for you to call and yell and scream out loud how unfair it is and how much you're missing Leah. Ashlyn saw a picture of Jesus holding a little girl and said "Oh look there is Jesus holding Leah" and I said yes yes he is!! But then again I get mad for you and wonder why because it should be you! I'm sorry if I'm upsetting you because that is the last thing I wanted to do!! I just wanted to let you know how very much we love your family!!!! I talked to you yessterday about people who don't know the right things to say I hope I did better! Love, Kelly Tapp

While attempting to understand your grief, I found a website that is written well and covers many aspects of grieving I could relate to ((( www.tearsoup.com ))). Unfortunately, it does not contain the ultimate answer –nothing does. It’s written with a lot of common sense and even lists do’s/don’ts for people who want to give comfort and support. You will find a wonderful support system exists around you –at work. Your co-workers will be there next to you on the bad days and on the good days. In addition, when you need to talk they’ll listen…and they’ll know when you need to be alone. They all had the opportunity to know Leah and will be remembering and grieving in their own ways, too. Everyone is different. Every loss is different. Everyone has gone through grief periods and yet there is still not enough knowledge for anyone to know what you’re experiencing. Some may be quiet around you but will likely feel that is how they can help you best and yet others will seem to keep you distracted from your thoughts…and that’s ok, too. They care. They were there when I needed them and they will be there for you, too! I pray that you and Phil find peace and strength in each other and that Kylie will remember more of the fun times and less of the hurt.

Hello Karen and family! Our prayers are with you and your family. I'm from Warren, Michigan and followed a girl's site from semi-near you all. Her name is Emerald and I found her site from a dear friend's CB site. Cheyenne Fiveash and her family are very dear to us. I'm not sure what your support channels are there where you live, but Emerald's mom seems to be great. Maybe you all could share your feelings sometime. Just know that there are folks out in West Texas holding you up in their prayers tonight. God hold you all close.
